Rail Europe’s French Motorail service
The French Motorail service from Calais to the South of France will sadly not be running in Summer 2010. The impact of the current economic climate and significant increases in train running costs, partly due to unfavourable exchange rates, means the service would not be financially viable.
AutoTrain – put your car on the train
If you’re planning to travel to France at any time of year but don’t want to drive all the way, consider the AutoTrain service. AutoTrain is a car carrying service operating all year round to up to 12 destinations in France. Put your car on the train in Paris and travel separately on a French day or overnight train, then collect your car when you get there and cut down on petrol costs.
