Takes the hassle out of travelling to France and earn up to 10% commission
What is French Motorail?

It's an overnight service that runs from Calais to six different destinations in the South of France.   This region is very popular with British holidaymakers during the summer months, and the service offers the added convenience of having your own car with you.

The train takes both cars and passengers together, so no need to wait for your car to arrive later on.  It departs in the evening, arriving early the next morning - so you can start your holiday straight away.

Accommodation on the train is in private couchette-style sleeping compartments - you won't have to share with other customers.

There is a bar onboard, and customers are free to take onboard their own food and drinks for the journey.

Rail Europe bilingual onboard Reps are on hand to assist customers from the moment they arrive in Calais until they arrive at their final destination.

Most types of vehicle can be accommodated, from motorbikes, to people carriers and 4 x 4s.  Prices vary accordingly.

Which stations does it serve?

There are two routes, both departing from Calais, each stopping at three stations.

  • Brive, Toulouse, Narbonne
  • Avignon, Fréjus (St Raphael), Nice
Dates and Prices

Motorail runs through the summer season until the beginning of September.  There are additional services in July and August to coincide with school summer holidays.

Customers can choose whether to take a  return journey, or a one way.   Prices are based on a one way trip and return journeys can be calculated by adding together an outbound and inbound price.

All prices are per car, not per person, regardless of how many passengers travel.  Each car is allocated a couchette compartment onboard the overnight train.

For full details on the service and price, refer to the Product Fact Sheet and Pricing Grid.
