Discover lakes and mountains in Switzerland, a non-EU country, famed for it's neutral status, secretive banking institutions and impeccable time-keeping - many luxurious watch brands are made here.

Mountainous Switzerland is a year round destination - alpine sports in the winter, breathtaking scenery for walkers in the summer. It also offers great options for city breaks, with plenty to see and do in Zurich, Lausanne, Bern and Geneva.

Other famous products are Swiss cheese and chocolate, and some of Switzerland's scenic train journeys will take you directly to places that produce both.

TGV Lyria - high-speed between France and Switzerland

TGV Lyria trains are very similar to the TGVs operated in France, with slightly different designs. In fact, the latest trains have been designed by the designer Christian Lacroix. First and standard classes are available.

TGV - (Train à grande vitesse) - high-speed trains

TGV trains run by the French rail network also link Paris with Geneva, and stations in the South of France.

Scenic trains

In Switzerland, there are a number of different scenic trains and journeys available. Some trains have floor to ceiling windows, or even a glass roof, to enable travellers to really appreciate the view.
