Germany's profile has risen in recent months due it's hosting of the 2006 World Cup, but it has always had much to offer the traveller.

It's long and varied history, and it's position in between Western and Eastern Europe have had a great influence on the history of the whole of Europe.  Tourists can enjoy Medieval cities, castles of past ruling dukes and relics of it's more recent turbulent history, such as the Berlin Wall.

Thalys - high speed trains connecting Benelux

High-speed trains linking France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Two classes of service are available, and there is a bar buffet car.

City Night Trains - overnight services

An overnight service that links Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland. A large range of accommodation is available, from reclining seats to deluxe sleeper cabins.

DB Nachtzug - overnight services between France and Germany

Overnight services from Paris to Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich. Accommodation ranges from compartments with showers and WC to couchettes and seats. Some services go via Brussels.
