One of the best rail networks in the world

Although only just across the Channel, France is very different from the UK, and has a great deal to offer visitors. With over double the land mass of the UK, scenery throughout the country varies tremendously, from the mountains of the Alps to central rural villages, and some of the best coastal resorts on the Mediterranean.

It has borders with Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, and the influences of these neighbours have filtered through to the lifestyle, architecture and cuisine of the different regions in France.

Consequently, France has a lot to offer, for the tourist as well as the second home owner. Whether it's a relaxing spa break, a food and wine holiday, an exploration of historical monuments, cycling, mountain climbing, skiing or just relaxing on the beach, France is able to accommodate.
