The Guardian has asked ten travel experts to reveal their top choices for getting a bit of sun, sea and sand across the Channel.
If you’re an eager celeb spotter, an adrenalin-seeking surf fanatic, or simply want to shed your clothes and relax with some powdery white sand between your toes, you’ll definitely find something to suit.
The best beaches to head to if you’re taking the train are L’lle de Riou in
Marseille – just three hours away from Paris by high speed rail. Plage de l’Almanarre, just a short hop from
Toulon, and Paloma Plage on the French Riviera, a pebble’s throw from
Monte Carlo, are also easy to reach.
Head over to the
Guardian website for the full list, and use the search box on the right of the page to search for tickets. Don’t forget to pack your sunglasses!

Re: Destination ideas: The best French beaches revealed
Spent a few days at Paloma Plage a few years ago. Very beautiful, but some of the bars and restaurants can be very expensive!
