Torn between a city break and a bit of sun, sea and sand for your holiday this summer? Paris Plages could be exactly the solution you’ve been waiting for.
Now in its 10th year, the Paris Plages sees a little slice of the south of France recreated on the banks of the River Seine. 2011 sees the biggest beach yet hit the centre of Paris, with the organisers promising ten times more sand than in previous years.
The beach is set up beneath the windows of the
Hôtel de Ville, with beach mats and chaise longues laid on to relax on – and 10 giant Jean-Christophe Choblet-designed giant deck chairs.
The Paris Plage is open every day up until 21 August 2011 between 8am until midnight, with a full programme of events and entertainment. Find out more on the
Paris Plages website. Return tickets from London to
Paris start from just £69.
