Top 5 attractions in Utrecht

A. Dom Tower
The tallest church tower in the Netherlands at 368 feet (112.5m), this 14th century Gothic-style building symbolises Utrecht. On a clear day, you can see Rotterdam and Amsterdam from the top. Come on, it’s only 465 steps…

B. Rietveld Schröder House
Naming this 1924 residence a World Heritage Site, UNESCO said: “With its radical approach to design and the use of space…[it] occupies a seminal position in the development of architecture in the modern age.”

C. Centraal Museum
Here in a former medieval cloister you’ll find the world’s largest collection of Rietveld designs, world-famous works by Dick Bruna, a collection of Old Masters, as well as contemporary fashion, design and fine arts.

D. Dutch Railway Museum
The Nederlands Spoorwegmuseum is devoted to the history of trains. It’s divided into four ‘worlds’ and located in the impressive Maliebaan station, which dates back to 1874. To get here, there’s an hourly train from Utrecht Centraal.

E. Wharves and canals
The Oudegracht is a curved canal in the medieval centre with wharves below street level. Restaurants, cafés, shops and stalls line the way along this unique and charming two-tier structure.
