Paris’ Gare du Nord is the main hub for Eurostar services direct from the UK. If you’re catching a connecting train into France or beyond, chances are you’ll need to change stations.

Below are our recommended transfer times when connecting between stations in Paris.

Gare du Nord

Getting to Paris by plane

Paris is also home to 2 major international airports. Both are well served by Metro services and buses running right to the heart of the city.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport connects to the city:

By train: The airport is 14 miles from the heart of Paris. RER trains – an express Metro service – run to the city every 15 minutes or so. The journey takes around 35 minutes. Take Line B from Charles de Gaulle TGV station at Terminal 2 towards Gare du Nord and Metro connections.

By bus:

Buses run every 10 minutes between Place Charles de Gaulle and Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminals 1 and 2. Approx. journey time: 40 minutes.
Services run every 30 minutes between 07:00 - 21:30 to Montparnasse. This journey takes about 50 minutes.
Roissybuses serve all 3 terminals from the Opéra district of central Paris every 15 minutes between 6:00 am and 10:30 pm. Approx. journey time: 45 minutes.

By taxi: A taxi between central Paris and the airport takes about 45 minutes. Chauffeur-driven limousines are available for hire between the airport and central Paris.

Paris Orly Airport connects to the city:

By train: The airport is 9 miles from the heart of Paris. RER trains – an express Metro service – run to the city every 15 minutes or so. Take the connecting train to Anthony station on Line B4 towards Gare du Nord and Metro connections. The ADP Shuttle service also provides a frequent link to Gare d’Austerlitz, where RER trains run along line C to St Michel, Invalides and Porte Maillot.

By taxi: A taxi between central Paris and the airport takes about 25 minutes. Chauffeur-driven limousines are available for hire between the airport and central Paris.
