The best way of seeing Lugano’s nearest mountain is to take the charming funicular railway from the town’s outskirts. Once you reach the top, the glorious Alpine views stretch for miles, even into Italy.

C. Monte San Salvatore

This mountain is also best reached by funicular railway. The journey 3,000 feet to the top rewards sightseers with excellent views of the lake and surrounding Alpine scenery.
