The Christmas Market of Strasbourg & Colmar

Dating back to the 16th century, Strasbourg is the oldest Christmas market in France and one of the largest, with enchanting stalls selling handicrafts, mulled wine, traditional bridle cakes and other delights from the magical medieval square beneath the city’s imposing pink sandstone Gothic cathedral. Why not combine your trip with a visit to the magical Christmas markets at Colmar? It’s one of the most charming towns in the Alsace region, full of wonky timbered houses and winding, narrow lanes. Strasbourg: 26 November – 31 December.
