The High speed Thalys train is getting faster. From 13th December 2009, journey times to Cologne and Amsterdam, from Brussels and Paris, will be reduced by approximately one hour making these the ideal destinations for a city break!
The metamorphosis is happening right now.
New interior design, new uniforms, new catering… Thalys is thinking ahead today to create the Thalys of tomorrow.
New looking
A new atmosphere is being created. Clean new lines, materials and fabrics in the Thalys colours, cosy furnishings, better use of space, lounges in Comfort 1, a meeting room and electrical sockets available everywhere for travellers... Thalys has completely rethought and redesigned the interior of the line’s carriages to keep customers as comfortable as possible.
New Uniforms
Thalys paired up with the young and talented Eva Gronbach, a German-Belgian designer, to give a whole new top-to-toe look to all on-board and station personnel. Sophisticated, high-tech materials were tailored for good looks and comfort, creating a polished, well-defined silhouette that reflects the elegance and tranquillity of the “New Thalys.”
New on board Services
The new Thalys carriages will be equipped with three different bars, each offering a different look and atmosphere. Thalys is moving with the times in catering, as well, by offering a selection of organic products in the Thalys Bar.
Travellers can still enjoy meal service at their seat in Comfort 1. In keeping with the new interior, Thalys also has invested in new tableware with modern lines, rich colour, and distinctive trim. Every setting says Thalys style and Comfort 1 luxury.
By connecting Brussels with Paris, Amsterdam or Cologne in less than two hours, Thalys makes Brussels the indisputable capital of Northern Europe.
