The high tech, high speed InterCityExpress (ICE) trains rival French TGVs for comfort. A sleek design – reminiscent of the Japanese bullet trains – enables them to touch speeds of up to 180mph on special high speed lines.

ICE trains link major German cities from Cologne in the west to Berlin in the east. Plus they run across borders into France, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands. They are fully air-conditioned, the carriages are roomy and special technology guarantees you a quiet, silky-smooth ride.
 
Those little extras…
It’s hard to top the ICE for comfort. You’ll get a reclining seat with lots of legroom, a radio and a table even in standard class. There are dedicated family spaces, plus some trains even have a glass observation area, where you get a driver’s eye view.

ICE trains also feature silent carriages, other carriages with enhanced mobile reception and onboard luggage lockers. And if you go first class, you can look forward to little extras like a fully reclining seat and access to business lounges at stations in major German cities.
