A. Trinity Column
In the middle of the attractive Main Square is this 60-foot (20m) Baroque white marble column, dating from 1723. It’s dedicated to the Holy Trinity for deliverance from the dangers of war (1704), fire (1712) and plague (1713).

B. Pöstlingberg
Take the historic mountain tram up to the top for the pilgrimage basilica, the panorama viewing platform and the fairytale world of the Grottenbahn cave railway. Half way up on the mountain tram is the Linz Zoological Garden.

C. Lentos Museum of Modern Art
Opened in 2003, the Lentos is one of Austria’s most important museums for 20th and 21st century art. The building, with its transparent glass casing, is almost as interesting as the contents – it’s strikingly lit up at night.

D. St. Martin's Church
Said to be Austria’s oldest church, it was first documented in 799. Peer inside through the glass door to see Roman stone inscriptions and a furnace. You can only enter the church with a tourist guide.
 
E. Botanical Garden
More than 10,000 types of plants are spread out over an area of 43,000 m² (more than 10 acres). Exotic specimens in the five greenhouses include what’s said to be Europe’s finest collection of cacti.
